On the days when you feel you are not being taken seriously, and the answers your heart longs for seem to be kept away from you, you may start to feel you have lost all control, but even there, even there, in the well of your soul, through all of the uncertainty, you are still whole. You are not lacking anything because of what your heart longs for. You are not unworthy of love and beauty because of what you missed. You are worthy of stepping full into the faithful, morning Light, no matter the lack of closure or what does not make sense.
For even in seasons where things are looking upward, there will still be a sense of mystery. There will still be late nights where streetlights only seem to shine bright in certain places. And it will be there where your mind is left to wonder what awaits you in the darkness, and out of the shadows, worry will rise, and leave you anxious all over again. And this is why it matters to know it is not a good day, or a good night, or a good season that make will you whole. It is the grace running wild through you, filling every empty place in the well of your soul.
So take heart, here in the lows. Your hurt is real, but so is grace. Let grace meet you here in the mystery, and remind you deep within it, you are not lacking anything. No matter the amount of times you have been made to feel that you were too much or not enough, none of the moments take you away from who you truly are, and the wisdom and the strength that has continued to grow strong within you.
Pay attention to the things that do not consume your mind the way they used to. Make note of the places in your life where you have learned to be more patient than you were years ago. These things may not seem like much, but they matter more than you know. They point to the beautiful reality that even here, you have continued to grow.
Even when others do not notice how far you have come, and the way respond to you about certain things makes you feel that you have stayed the same, they have gone on their way, and they no longer see you as they used to. May you only allow these feelings to linger for a little while before remembering that no matter how close you were once were, your worth is not reflected in how they see you. They have only seen a part of you, even if they have known you for years.
Your worth is anchored in depths that goes deeper than what the human eye can see, and it takes faith and bravery to accept that far beyond what they have seen in you, you have much deeper meaning. And if someone else get too busy or do not choose to see your worth, this does not take anything away from you. You will still become who you were meant to be. And with or without their acknowledgement or approval, you will have the grace you need.
More tomorrow...
Sincerely,
Morgan Harper Nichols
