Growth in the waiting

"I am not sure if things have been going according to plan or coming to an end, or somewhere in between, but I do hope that you know that you are still growing here."

How has this year been for you so far?

I am not sure if things have been going according to plan or coming to an end, or somewhere in between, but I do hope that you know that you are still growing here. There may be no easy words to sum up what you are feeling here, but I do hope that the following words remind you that you will not be lost in the in-between, or the beginning or ending of things:

If there are ever days

where you feel lost in between

the way things are

and the way things should be

may you know that even there,

by grace you are free

to step forward into Light,

and believe better things.

Even when you do not know

what better things to expect,

and even before you are ready

for whatever will happen next,

may you still be courageous

in taking brave and faithful steps

knowing you are still

on a journey

and you are far

from finished yet.

So take heart

on the narrow road

and fall in love with journey.

Have gratitude

for these moments

for you know

you are still growing.

Even when clarity takes

longer than expected,

you are gathering wisdom here

that will matter in days to come.

And there might be days

and there might be entire seasons

where you feel lost in between

the possibility of things,

and you are questioning

if you should run, wait, or be still,

and you feel restless as you wonder

where tomorrow will lead,

even then, let it be Light

shining ever-so bright through your worry,

reminding you

there is a time

for everything,

and for all of time,

and for whatever each season brings,

you are still being guided

right where you to need to be.

So take heart and be courageous,

make room for the lessons

this season will bring,

For tomorrow

may still be uncertain

but today is calling you

to bravely step forward

amidst your uncertainty.

And one day

you will back

on days like this

and you will be so glad

you chose to be faithful.

You will be grateful

you chose to trust,

and how even here,

you did not give up.

You will see that all along,

your patience mattered,

and there was so much more in store,

and though it took longer than expected,

it was all worth waiting for.

More tomorrow...

Sincerely,

Morgan Harper Nichols
