High over the hills of your worries

"In overwhelming anxiety, there will be overwhelming grace."

High over the hills of her worries,
she will soar on wings like eagles,
she will laugh about the days to come,
without fear of where she would end up.
Because she knows no matter what,
she will be where she needs to be,
seeing the Light in everything.
Soaking everything in joy,
she will have all that she needs.
And when she flies and she when falls
and on her best and worst of days,
in overwhelming anxiety
she will find overwhelming grace.

Take a deep breath. Make this decision: no matter how hard it tries: the shadows will not win today. And not because your life was perfect, but because deep within your soul you found that it was worth it to get lost in the wonder of hope that maybe, you will be okay.

Even on the days where your heart is filled with doubt, this is still true: you have already made it through so many things. You have already climbed mountains and tread through valleys that you never imagined you would have to meet. So many things have kept your worries alive at night. So many days have left you feeling there is no other option but to fail. But somehow, through it all, you found the hope to rise again. And even though it does not always look like it, that was courage. That was strength.

So keep in mind that your strength might not always be as bold and as obvious as you thought it would be. It might not always like wash like a mighty wave over the shores of your uncertainty. Somedays, it might rush quietly, like a river deep within the canyons far below, and it might take being still, and truly listening, to be reminded it’s still there.

Remember this when you look back on the times of your life where the only thing that seemed to rise from those seasons was failure and disappointment. You may have walked away with brokenness, but you also walked away with the capacity to heal. You walked away with room within the depths of you for the emptiness to be filled.

That took courage. That took strength. That took: choosing to live with hope beyond what did not make sense. And now, you can carry on knowing this: no matter what overwhelms you in the future, you will be overwhelmed by grace all the more. Grace that says, there is room for you to heal and to grow in strength, even if it looks different than how you thought it would. You will rise up again. You will bravely choose to cling to all the places where Light gets in. You will look back over every broken, weary season of your life believing that all along, even when you were pushing through the shadows, you were being made strong.

And no matter how much it tries, the shadows will not win today. For even though they tried to fill every part of your being with fear, you have found a new way of living. You have found the value in taking a mindful, grace-filled look at your life, seeing that through it all, you are still finding strength. You are still finding grace to carry on another day.

More tomorrow...
Sincerely,
